I include here reprint versions to download as well as links to the published versions; in a few instances I have also put an article online as Web pages, in which case the article title is clickable. I try hard not to write dry, uninteresting prose in my scientific work. I believe, as Horace put it, that omne tulit punctum qui miscuit utile dulci, lectorem delectando pariterque monendo; he has gained every point who has mixed the useful with the agreeable, pleasing as well as instructing the reader. This dictum, I think, ought to apply just as much to a scientific paper as to any other written work.
