Continental paleoclimate records: stalactites and stalagmites

A climatic change that has occurred in an area can be evaluated by means of climatic records whose study allows the reconstruction of the paleoclimatic evolution of an area. The stalagmites and stalactites of the caves and the sediments of the lagoons contain much information about the geological past of the regions where they are found, since their genesis is strongly conditioned by environmental factors related to the climate.
