A team of international scientists led by researchers from the Andalusian Institute of Earth Sciences (IACT), the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), Imperial College London, the University of Barcelona and the University of Bordeaux, has discovered that a Antarctic Circumpolar Current, with characteristics similar to those of today, was not formed until approximately 14 million years ago (Ma).
