CSIC researchers lead the development of software to evaluate the performance of additives that seek to eliminate mineral scale in water treatment systems.
“We are currently developing the next version of this tool, so that it also includes machine learning algorithms to optimize the selection of new sustainable additives, which will be key to making the operation of desalination plants more profitable and helping to combat more and more frequent droughts are stalking the Mediterranean area,” says the project leader and IACT researcher, Alexander Van Driessche
