Péter Ábel Polyák (Ábel) is a Researcher in Training under the JAE Intro 2024 fellowship, working on the geochronology of ore deposits under the supervision of Carlos J. Garrido (CSIC-IACT) and Guillermo Booth-Rea  (University of Granada).

Currently in the second year of his Master’s program in Earth Sciences at the University of Szeged in Hungary, Ábel specializes in metamorphic petrography and petrology. His previous work focused on metapelites from the basement of the Great Hungarian Plain, where he conducted both qualitative and quantitative analyses of pressure-temperature (PT) paths. Additionally, he brings experience in economic geology from his participation in the EIT Raw Materials RIS Internship Programme at IGEO-CSIC in Madrid, where he performed petrographic studies and investigated the origins of ore deposits in the Iberian Peninsula.
