Solid Earth and Mineral Resources is a multidisciplinary Research Unit with two Groups focusing their investigation on the formation and evolution of the crust and upper mantle and oceanic continental as well as the associated magmatic ore deposits, the isotopic traceability of essentials elements in terrestrial biogeochemical cycles to assess accurately the interaction among geosphere-biosphere-hydrosphere-atmosphere over the Earth’s history, and the comparative study of the terrestrial planets to understand the origin and evolution of the planets and the impact on the atmosphere of a planet in the emergence of life.
