Scientific Ilustration

The Scientific Illustration service develops visual concepts and creates high-quality graphic materials, including logos, brochures, banners, and other elements for digital and printed media to illustrate the scientific publications of IACT research staff, both for conferences and teaching.

The main tasks performed by this service are the following:

• Layout and design of publications such as books, posters, magazines, brochures, annual reports, or catalogs, ensuring an attractive and easy-to-read design, ensuring an attractive visual layout consistent with the institutional identity of the center.
• Editing, retouching, and optimization of images to improve their presentation and ensure they maintain their quality and resolution for various media, both print and digital.
• Creating vector illustrations to help effectively communicate complex scientific data, and research.
• Preparing files for print: Converting and adjusting digital files to the formats and specifications needed for printing, including creating templates, crop marks and bleeds, and correcting technical issues such as image resolution and color.

Optical Microscopy

The unit includes a reflected and transmitted light microscope and a digital microphotography device.

It also equipped a compact micro-Raman LabRAM-HR-VIS spectrometer, from Horiba-Yvon, which has a simple spectrometer with a high focal distance diffraction gratting, a confocal microscope and suitable software for data acquisition and processing.
